Mantle House Mission

Mantle House Mission is a non-profit organization offering a transitional place for homeless young men and women aged 18 -24, men who seek a return to community and a productive life.  We are a Christian based organization that believes there is an great need to help young adults who may have no direction in their lives or a lack of guidance from mentoring adults – issues that can cause them to have no one to turn to.

These young men and women may left a homeless shelter, such as the Union Mission in Latrobe or the Washington City Mission, or they may have been released from Westmoreland County’s juvenile detention center. Whatever the reason that has caused them to be homeless, Mantle House Mission can provide living accommodations, life skills, and guidance.

Our Resale House

Mantle House Mission funds its operations, in part, through the resale of household items, antiques, and art.  Visit us at our 132 South Water Street address in West Newton. The Mantle House Mission Resale Store is a beautiful Victorian home with two floors and six full rooms open for you to browse,  including our Bookstore and Children’s room.

Store hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm. With God’s grace, we’re sure you’ll find something to delight the eye and enhance your home while helping our homeless young adults during this critical, transitional period of their lives.

In addition to resale, Mantle House works diligently to seek grants and hold fundraisers throughout the year.

Donations

Would you like to donate directly to the Mantle House Mission?  Your support is greatly appreciated and is put to direct and immediate use here at our facility in West Newton.  An integral part of the local community, Mantle House buys food, supplies, and services locally, so all donations not only support our efforts to change the lives of the young men staying with us, but also go to support the community in which we live.  Donate today!
